YOU’RE ALREADY DEAD
Surrendering your body to death in this life should be the easiest thing for you because when He returns, He’s going to give you a new one anyway.
And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep – Acts 7:60
Steven was the first martyr of the Early Church. Before he was stoned to death by the Jews, Steven saw the Lord Jesus Christ standing at the right hand of the Father.
Why didn’t Steven ask the Lord to save him? That’s because Christianity is a death sentence. When you got baptized, you were baptized into the Lord Jesus Christ’s Death. You came to Faith through death. You’re already dead. You have nothing left to hang on to.
What’s left is just your physical body. Surrendering your body to death in this life should be the easiest thing for you because when He returns, He’s going to give you a new one anyway. Killing a Christian is a misnomer. How can you kill someone who’s already dead? Glory to God!
CONFESSION
When the Lord Jesus Christ died I died with Him and my life is now hid in Him. That’s why I don’t mind dying as a martyr. I can’t be killed because I’m already dead.
