WE DON’T BELONG HERE

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you – 2 Corinthians 6:18

The Gospel is a rescue mission, not a settler project. We’re not here to colonise the world but to call others out of it because we ourselves have been called out. This world is passing away with its lust and will soon be replaced with a new one.

Instead of us making our home here, we should remember that our citizenship is in Heaven. We don’t belong here. Here we don’t have an abiding city, but we’re looking for a City with foundations, whose Builder and Maker is God.

We’re aliens and strangers in this world. That’s why we should come out of among the peoples of this world and be separate. That’s why we should touch no unclean thing. We should not love this world nor the things of this world, otherwise we’ll be judged and destroyed with it when the Lord Jesus returns.

CONFESSION

I’m an alien and stranger in this world. I am in this world but I am not of it. My mind is not set on earthly things but on things above because my citizenship is in Heaven. Glory to God!
