THE WORDS OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free – John 8:31-32
What made the Early Church so powerful? It was the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ. They were His Disciples and they did His Words. It’s important to read the entire Bible but the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ must be our priority. We’re not called to be disciples of Moses, the Prophets, the Apostles or even our Pastors.
We’re called to be Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, not converts or Church Members. And the only way to be the Lord’s Disciples is by paying very close attention to the Red Letters in the Gospels. Of course all Scripture is inspired, but as His Disciples we’re to obey everything HE commanded.
When we abide in what He commanded, we’ll experience true Freedom. Freedom from false teachings, worshipping our Ministers, living in sin, the love of self, the love of money, the love of pleasure and many occultic practices. Only the Lord Jesus Christ can save the Church from Herself.
PRAYER
Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that you open our eyes to the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ. Open our ears to the Voice of the Good Shepherd that we may hear Him and follow Him into Eternal Life. Amen.
