THE WORD OF FAITH ON OUR LIPS IS THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT

And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel – Exodus 19:6

Israel were a Kingdom of Priests unto God, in other words, they were Kings and Priests unto God. As Priests, they walked in Obedience to the Commandments of God, but as Kings, they dethroned nations, took territory and occupied the Promised Land. The Church is the same. Revelation 5:10 says, ‘And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.’ As Priests, we deny ourselves, take up our Cross daily and obey the Commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ.

But as Kings, we’re seated together with Him on His Throne and we rule and reign with Him. Like Israel, we rule over the nations of the world by displacing Satan and taking territory from him so that we can occupy our Promised Land. Joshua 10:28 says, ‘On that day Joshua captured Makkedah and put it to the sword, along with its king. He devoted to destruction everyone in the city, leaving no survivors.’ Israel ruled over other nations by the edge of the sword. We’ve also been given a Sword, the Sword of the Spirit.

Revelation 19:15 says, ‘And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations.’ Like the Lord Jesus Christ, there’s a Sword in our mouths, the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. Through it we make war and rule over the devil and his kingdom. When Satan tempted the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord responded with the Sword of His Mouth. He cut the devil to pieces with, ‘It is written!’ That’s how you rule and reign over the devil. Haul out that Sword and hack away at those demons. Like Joshua, which means Jesus, put them to the Sword. Devote to destruction everyone and everything in the kingdom of darkness. Be ruthless. Leave no survivors. Take no prisoners. Glory to God!

CONFESSION

As a Priest, I obey the Commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ. But as a King, I rule and reign over the devil and his demons. With the Sword of the Spirit in my mouth, I devote them to destruction and cut them to pieces. Glory to God!
