THE POWERS OF THE WORLD TO COME

And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come – Hebrews 6:5

There is a World to Come. This is what’s at the heart of the Message of the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3:7 says, ‘By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.’ The current heavens and earth will be burned with Fire. What we see around us will be destroyed by God and will not endure. That’s why you should not put your trust in this world.

2 Peter 3:13 says, ‘Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.’ What’s coming is a New Heaven and a New Earth. This is the Kingdom of Heaven coming to the earth, where there will be no more death, sorrow, crying or pain. The former things would have passed away. The Power of the Spirit comes from this World which is yet to come to prove its existence in this one.

That’s why every Miracle we see by the Powers of the World to Come is a warning for men to repent of their sin. 1 John 2:17 says, ‘And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.’ This world is passing away, however, only those who live by the Powers of the World to Come will make it into the World to Come. The Kingdom to Come is what the Gospel is all about. It’s what the Bible aims to reveal. Many will tell you that the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of the Lord are the Gospel. However, they’re only a means to an end, to help us become inhabitants of the World to Come. The Kingdom of Heaven is near. It’s time to repent and believe the Gospel.

Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, may I live in accordance with the Doctrine of Christ in this world so that I won’t miss the World to Come. Amen.
