THE LOVE OF MONEY WILL COST YOU EVERYTHING

MONEY MONDAY

This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein – John 12:6

The love of money is the root of all evil. Judas Iscariot was the Lord Jesus Christ’s treasurer but because he loved money, he used to steal from the ministry. Since greed is never satisfied, Judas eventually betrayed the Master for thirty pieces of silver for Him to be arrested and crucified. In the end, Judas killed himself after realising the error of his ways.

Many in the church today love money. However, they don’t realise where all of this is going. They seem not to know that no man can serve two masters. Like with Judas, what began as small compromises here and there will ultimately develop into full-blown betrayal and rejection. One day, they’ll have to face what looks like a big pay day and will have to choose between the Master and money, and like Judas, they’ll choose money because greed is lust, it’s never satisfied.

The love of money is expensive, it’ll cost you everything. Like Judas, those who love money will pay for it with their lives because the destiny of those who’re covetous is eternal destruction. The love of money is a death trap. To break loose of it you need the grace of God. It’s time to escape the coming wrath. Repent while you still can, for the kingdom of heaven is near.

PRAYER

Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I ask that you search me and purge my soul of the love of money. May I love the Lord Jesus Christ and not money. May I never betray nor reject Him. Amen.
