THE LORD JESUS CHRIST CARES DEEPLY ABOUT THE POOR, SO SHOULD WE
Giving to the poor was a big focus of the Lord’s ministry
MONEY MONDAY
There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor – Matthew 26:7-9
When the woman with the alabaster box poured expensive perfume on the Lord’s head, His disciples were offended. They saw it as a waste of money. But that’s not because they were being unspiritual. Luke 12:33 says, ‘Sell your possessions and give to the poor.’
The disciples were merely responding to the Lord’s commandment to sell one’s possessions and giving the proceeds to the poor. In fact, giving to the poor was a big focus of the Lord’s ministry. After the Lord spoke to Judas about His betrayal, they thought He was sending him to give to the poor, that’s how much the Lord’s ministry gave to the poor. John 13:29 says, ‘For some of them thought…Jesus had said unto him…he should give something to the poor.’ The Lord’s ministry wasn’t just about the word and miracles, it was also about the poor, big time.
After His ascension, the apostles continued to focus on the poor. When Paul went to Jerusalem, he discussed giving to the poor with the other apostles. Galatians 2:10 says, ‘Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.’ Giving to the poor was important to the Lord then and it’s still important to Him now. As disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, we should walk in His footsteps and be concerned about the plight of the poor. The expensive items we have, that we don’t really need, should be sold and the proceeds given to the poor.
PRAYER
Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, help not to live a self-centred life of amassing material possessions. May I remember the poor, and like the Lord Jesus Christ, may I dedicate my life to helping them with my substance. Amen.

YOU HAVE PEACE WITH GOD

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ – Romans 5:1
When Adam sinned in the garden, He was separated from God. That’s why He was thrown out of the garden of Eden. Isaiah 59:2 says, ‘But your iniquities have separated between you and your God…’ Man’s sin separates him from God and makes Him an enemy of God. But God, in His intinite mercy sent His son, the Lord Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins.
Romans 5:10 says, ‘For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.’ Through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ which was shed for the sin that separated us from God, we’ve now been reconciled to God. We’re no longer separated from God or even enemies of God/ Through His Blood, we’ve been justified or declared righteous by God. As a result, God no longer wants to kill us because He has already sacrificed His Son on the cross on our behalf. His death was a peace offering that satisfied God’s anger towards us. There’s now peace between us and God.
That’s why the Lord Jesus Christ is called the Prince of Peace. The Lord Jesus Christ is Himself our peace. God now sees us holy in His sight, without blemish and free from all accusation. And this is the part that many leave out – if we continue in the faith. There’s no once-saved-always-saved. If we go back to living in sin, we rekindle against ourselves the fire the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ put out. But because we’ve been given the gift of righteousness, we have the capacity to do righteousness by His grace. So let’s maintain this peace by the very grace we ve received. Glory to God!
CONFESSION
I’ve been justified by faith through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. I’m therefore holy, without blemish and free from all accusation before God. Glory to God!

LIFE THAT’S TRULY LIFE
That’s the Life He wants you to live. Life that is truly Life
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full – John 10:10
Why did the Lord Jesus Christ really come? He tells us that He came so that we may have Life, Eternal Life. Over and over in the Gospels, the Lord Jesus Christ repeats this fact. John 6:47 says, ‘Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.’ When you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, He forgives your sins, but He also gives you Eternal Life. That’s the Doctrine of Christ. That’s what He taught. The Lord came to do more than forgive us our sins. He came to give us His Life.
Acts 26:18 says, ‘That they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.’ When we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, we receive Forgiveness of sins, and our Inheritance of Eternal Life. Many don’t know that they have more than Forgiveness of sins. 1 John 5:13 says, ‘These things I have written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe in the name of the Son of God.’ By being born again, we’re now born of God and have His Life. We have more than Forgiveness of sins, we also have Eternal Life.
Don’t therefore settle for Forgiveness of sins, graduate to living in Eternal Life. The Lord Jesus Christ came to give you more than Forgiveness of sins. He came to give you His Life. 1 Timothy 6:19b says, ‘So that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.’ Eternal Life is Life that is truly Life. In other words, human life is not true life. The life of sin in this world is not rooted in reality but deception. When you live Eternal Life, you live the Life the Lord lived in this world. He lived above sin, sickness, poverty, Satan, this world, and death. He lived a Life of Victory, Power, and Dominion. That’s the Life He wants you to live. Life that is truly Life. Glory to God!
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I thank You that I can live the Life that is truly Life. Thank You that I can live above sin, sickness, poverty, Satan, the world, and death. Amen.

LIVING IN THIS WORLD WITH THE RESOURCES OF THE WORLD TO COME
The Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ has qualified us to be sharers in the Inheritance of the Saints in Light.
MONEY MONDAY
Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered – Luke 22:35
Eternal Life is Life from the dead. It comes to us through the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Poverty, lack, and debt are of the grave. They came with the Fall. When Adam sinned, He opened the door to financial death. But when the Lord Jesus Christ shed His Blood on the Cross, He dealt with the source of poverty, and buried it. At Resurrection, He left poverty in the grave, and came out with the Restoration of All Things for those who will believe.
We’ve been raised up together with Christ out of poverty and are now seated together with Him in Heavenly Places, far above all poverty, all lack, and debt. We’ve been translated out of the kingdom of darkness and transferred into the Kingdom of God. Colossians 1:12 says, ‘Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.’ The Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ has qualified us to be sharers in the Inheritance of the Saints in Light.
Our Inheritance is the Kingdom of God, which is the World to Come. We therefore live in this world with the Resources of the World to Come. God meets all our needs according to His Riches in Glory by Christ Jesus. That’s why when we seek the Kingdom of God by walking in Obedience to the Commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ, God adds All Things to us. When we give, it is given to us, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. God causes His Resources to locate us so that we may live above the system of this world. This is the Life the Lord Jesus Christ has brought us to. That’s the Doctrine of Christ. Glory to God!
PRAYER
Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I thank You that You’ve called me to a Life of Victory over death and the grave. I thank You that You’ve qualified me to share in the Inheritance of the Saints in Light. Amen.
