THE GOSPEL PROMISE IS NOT WEALTH
The promise of the gospel is the coming kingdom, not wealth.
MONEY MONDAY
Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised them that love him – James 2:5
The promise of the gospel is the coming kingdom, not wealth. The Lord Jesus Christ preached the gospel to the poor but He never promised them wealth in this life. Being rich in this world is not against the gospel but it’s also not the focus of it.
The church has done the world a disservice by distorting the focus of the gospel message. By making it about money, the church has produced a generation of earthly minded believers who are invested in time and not eternity. The church is bound by the love of money as a result, there are all kinds of evil in her.
But God is cleaning up the message and removing the love of money from the church. There is coming a generation of the church that will focus on being rich in faith, not money. They’ll be content with being heirs of the coming kingdom and not greedy for money in this life.
PRAYER
Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ help me to focus on being rich in faith and not money. May I be content with being an heir of the kingdom to come and not be greedy for money in this life. Amen.
