For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it – Luke 14:28

Here the Lord Jesus Christ is talking about the cost of being His Disciple. Church membership is free, but Discipleship comes at a cost. What is that cost?

The Lord Jesus concluded by saying in verse 33, ‘So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.’ The cost of being a Disciple of the Lord Jesus is ‘everything’.

Unless you’re willing to lay down your life and live for Him alone, you can’t be His Disciple. He’s not trying to improve your life or make it better, He wants you to lay it down and take up His. This is the only way to be His Disciple. Unless you’re willing to put your life on the altar, you can’t sit with Him on the Throne. That’s the Gospel of the Kingdom!

CONFESSION

I’ve counted the cost and I’m willing to pay the price. I’m prepared to lay down my life so that Christ may live His Life through me. Glory to God!
