REMEMBER LOT’S WIFE

Remember Lot’s wife. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it – Luke 17:32-33

The Lord Jesus Christ told us to remember Lot’s wife in the last days. Why? When God was about to destroy Sodom, He warned Lot and his family to come out of the city and not to look back. Lot and his daughters were saved. But Lot’s wife looked back because she loved Sodom so much, and she turned into a pillar of salt and perished in Sodom.

God is about to destroy this world and He has told us not to love this world. But if we love this world like Lot’s wife loved Sodom, we’ll look back. If we look back, we’ll return to the world and its desires. We’ll return to our old life of sin and disobedience. We’ll go back to the club, the pub, the whorehouse, drinking, smoking, fornicating, lying, cheating, stealing and killing.

That’s why we can’t look back. If we look back, like Lot’s wife we’ll die with and in the world. If we look back, like Lot’s wife, we’ll be destroyed with the wicked. Let’s not seek to save our life of sin by going back to it or we’ll die in our sins. It’s time to stop looking back because one of these days, like Lot’s wife, you would’ve taken your last look. Remember Lot’s wife. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.

PRAYER

Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, may not be like Lot’s wife and look back. May I not go back to my life of sin but lose it so that I may live with you for all eternity. Amen.
