PERSECUTION AND LACK
Inasmuch as the Lord prospers us, He also promised us persecution.
MONEY MONDAY
Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place – 1 Corinthians 4:11
The prosperity gospel is false. The real gospel doesn’t promise a bed of roses in this life. Just as the world hated and persecuted the Lord Jesus Christ, they’ll treat us the same because a servant is not greater than his Master.
Part of persecution is having one’s possessions confiscated, bank accounts frozen and being barred from buying or selling. This then leads to lack, hunger, thirst and being homeless and destitute. The church doesn’t want to hear this, however, not only is this true, but it’s also coming very soon.
Inasmuch as the Lord prospers us, He also promised us persecution. This world is not our home. Here, we don’t have lasting possessions. The wealth of this world is uncertain and perishable. Let’s therefore set our affections on things that are above and not on the things of this age.
PRAYER
Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I accept both provision from you and persecution from the world. No matter how much I may lose through persecution, I can never lose the better and permanent possessions I have in Christ Jesus. Amen.
