OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS

Teaching them to OBEY all things whatsoever I have COMMANDED you – Matthew 28:20a

Obeying the Commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ is at the heart of the Doctrine of Christ. Followers or Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ are those who obey His Commandments. They call Him Lord because they obey His Commandments.

Many today are taught that the Lord Jesus Christ obeyed God for them and now their part is only to have faith in what He did for them. They say anything beyond that is works, their own performance, trying to earn their salvation or even being under the law because ‘Christ is enough’.

That’s a false doctrine based on a distortion of the letters of Paul. We know you have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ when you obey His Commandments. He didn’t say we should teach others to believe and confess what He did but rather to obey His Commandments. Let’s obey and teach others to obey.

PRAYER

Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that the Church will stop believing and teaching false doctrines. May the Church obey the Doctrine of Christ and teach others to obey His Commandments. Amen.
