Francois Pienaar to be involved with the Springboks once more.

The Lord also spoke about Francois Steyn.

Francois Pienaar is the Springbok captain who won the 1995 Rugby World Cup. This was a seminal moment in South African rugby history. Before then, rugby was associated with apartheid, but when then president Nelson Mandela donned the captain’s number 6 jersey and celebrated with the squad, he made it a crossover sport that united South Africa.

Back then, rugby was followed by about 5 million people, today, it’s a national sport that enjoys the support of over 60 million South Africans.

No one will ever forget the role Francois Pienaar played at that crucial moment in this nation’s history. He’ll probably come in on an advisory capacity.

Francois Steyn is the youngest ever Rugby World Cup winner. The two time World Cup winner called it quits this year after a knee injury. He’s currently director of rugby at the Toyota Cheetahs.

We should at some point also hear this man’s involvement with the Boks once more.
