LIVE AS CHILDREN OF LIGHT

And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light – Romans 13:11-12

Our Salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The Lord Jesus Christ is coming back soon. All the Signs are there. That’s why we have to understand the present time. The night is nearly over, the Day of the Lord is almost here. As a result, we must put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the Armour of Light and fight the Good Fight of Faith.

The devil will tempt us with sin and the things of this world. But like the Lord Jesus Christ we must stand firm and resist him in the Faith. 1 Thessalonians 5:4-5 says, ‘But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.’ The Lord Jesus Christ will come like a thief in the night. In other words, He’ll come at an hour no one expects Him because no man knows the Day or the hour.

However, when He arrives, we won’t be surprised. Rather, we’ll rejoice because we’re expecting His Arrival. That’s why we must set aside the fruitless deeds of darkness. We’re Children of Light and not of darkness. We must therefore live as those who are in the Light since those who live in darkness have secret and hidden ways. They lead a double life. We must put on the Armour of Light and ward off the darkness, knowing that if we don’t, we’ll be judged with the wicked and thrown into the Lake of Fire with them when the Lord returns. That’s why if there’s sin in our lives, we must repent now because the hour is late, the Kingdom of Heaven is near.

PRAYER

Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, help me to renounce all secret ways and set aside all the fruitless deeds of darkness. May I live in the Light as the Lord Jesus Christ is in the Light, may His Blood cleanse me of all unrighteousness so that I may be acceptable to Him at His Coming. Amen.
