LIFE FOLLOWS DOCTRINE
When you watch your life and the Doctrine of Christ closely, you’ll save yourself and your hearers.
Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers – 1 Timothy 4:16
Paul told Timothy to watch his life and Doctrine closely. Why? Your life follows the Doctrine you believe. If you believe the doctrines of demons, your life will be filled with unrighteousness, leading to perdition and destruction.
But if you believe the Doctrine of Christ, your life will be filled with Holiness, leading to Salvation and Eternal Life. You’ll persevere in the Doctrine of Christ. You’ll deny yourself, take up your cross daily, crucify your flesh with its lusts and passions and follow the Lord Jesus Christ.
When you watch your life and the Doctrine of Christ closely, you’ll save yourself and your hearers. Meaning the opposite is true, if you don’t watch your life and the Doctrine of Christ closely, you’ll enter everlasting punishment and take others with you. It’s time to repent and believe the Gospel!
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help me to watch my life and the Doctrine of Christ closely. Help me to persevere in them and save myself and those who listen to me. Amen.
