‘IT IS WRITTEN’
We resist the devil, through the Word of God and he flees from us.
’And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me Satan; for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve – Luke 4:8
The Lord Jesus Christ is our Example. He’s the Pattern Son. Those who follow Him must walk as He walked. As Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, we must imitate our Master through and through.
When confronted by the devil during His temptation, He responded with, ‘It is written’ and satan fled. He was showing us how to crush the devil and his demons. Responding to the devil with, ‘It is written’ is a vital part of the Doctrine of Christ.
Whenever they give you grief, tell them, ‘It is written’, like our Lord Jesus Christ. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. That’s the Doctrine of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ never took nonsense from satan, neither should you.
CONFESSION
I’m a Disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. I not only do as He does, but I also speak as He speaks. I deal with satan as He deals with him. I respond with, ‘It is written’.
