HONOUR GOD WITH YOUR FIRSTFRUIT

MONEY MONDAY

Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine – Proverbs 3:9-10

In 2023, the world will see its economic woes deepen. It may not look like it currently, however, as the year progresses, you’ll see many nations fall into economic recession. The Lord has already spoken to us about the coming famine. All of this is God’s Judgment on the nations of the world for their disobedience. To escape what’s coming, you must walk in Obedience to His Commandments. Giving our Firstfruit, like Tithing, is a Commandment that must be obeyed. It’s God’s Strategy to weather the Coming Storm.

Matthew 5:19 says, ‘Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.’ The Lord Jesus Christ didn’t come to abolish the Law and the Prophets, and contrary to popular Christian belief, He didn’t come to do away with the Commandments. It’s a Commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ for Christians to obey the Commandments given through Moses.

Romans 11:16 says, ‘For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.’ Giving your Firstfruit blesses the rest of your income for the year. Firstfruit is the King of Offerings. This is what sets you up for financial increase throughout the year. But won’t I starve, Pastor? No, you won’t. God will never break His Covenant. If we keep our end of the Bargain, He’ll keep His. If giving Firstfruit didn’t starve Israel, it won’t starve the Church. God is no respecter of persons. If it worked for Israel then, it will work for us today. Giving is an eternal and indestructible law of Abundance.
