Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us – 1 Corinthians 5:6-7

Passover begins this evening at sunset. Throughout the celebration, we eat Unleavened Bread. Ancient Israel were instructed by God to remove all leaven from their homes for the duration of the Feast since leaven represents evil.

The Apostle Paul counsels us in this Season to purge ourselves of the old leaven since we’re the New Creation. We have to set aside old habits of the Old Man which suppress Christ in us thus causing us to stumble.

Passover is therefore a Call to Repentance. It’s a Season to examine ourselves and ensure there’s no leaven in us. As we drink the Cup and eat the Bread, we must not do so unworthily otherwise we’ll be eating and drinking damnation to ourselves. Glory to God!

PRAYER

Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, help me to identify areas in my life where I’m not walking worthy of the Gospel. Help me to repent in those areas that I may walk in newness of Life. Amen.
