GRACE TO OBEY

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them – Ezekiel 36:27

When we got born again, God took away our old heart of stone and gave us a new heart of flesh. He then wrote His Commandments on this new heart and gave us His Holy Spirit to cause us to do those Commandments. What Grace! What Mercy!

We therefore don’t obey God out of our own strength and human effort. The Holy Spirit is our Helper. He helps us to obey God. With God’s Commandments written in our hearts, we love His Commandments and we obey Him because we love Him. Our obedience to Him comes from the new heart He’s given us.

By His Spirit He helps us to do the Commandments written in our hearts. That’s the Grace of God. That’s the Love of God. That’s the Mercy of Almighty God. The Holy Spirit has come to empower us to live a holy life before God. It’s therefore no longer difficult to please Him because we do it all by His Grace.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I thank You for taking away my old heart of stone and giving me a heart of flesh. Thank You for writing your Commandments on my heart and giving me Your Spirit to help me obey You. Thank You for Your Mercy and Grace. Amen.
