GODLY FATHER + GODLY MOTHER = BALANCED CHILD

And they came with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger – Luke 2:16

God provided a godly earthly father and mother to raise the Lord Jesus Christ in this world. God values family and He wants each and every child to be raised by both a father and a mother. That’s because each parent contributes something unique and yet essential to the healthy and balanced development of their child. Men are not women and women are not men. Men cannot raise children on their own and women cannot raise children on their own.

Men and women need each other and children need both their parents. If you’re a single parent and you belong to a church, speak to the leaders in your church to step in and help you raise your children. Make sure your children have a strong male and female influence for them to be balanced in life. There are things only a father can do and there are things only a mother can give.

Make sure your child receives both male and female attention. No matter how gifted and intelligent you are, you cannot raise your child by yourself. Don’t think that having money and being able to afford your children means you’re giving them all they need. Children need more than material objects. They need stability, love, discipline, encouragement, guidance, identity, belonging, security, community and so much more. And no one person can provide all of that on their own. You need help. May God help you raise godly children.

PRAYER

Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that single mothers and fathers may receive the help they need to raise their children. Send them godly men and women who can stand in as the other parent for their children to grow up to be balanced adults. Amen.
