FORSAKE ALL AND FOLLOW HIM
To become a Follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, you must forsake every other teacher with their philosophy and example. You must follow His Teaching. You must practice His Philosophy. He must become your Example
Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have, therefore – Matthew 19:27
The Lord Jesus Christ’s Commandment is that we should follow Him. You know you follow someone if you practice their philosophy. It’s their teaching and example that frame your mindset.
Many in the Church are Hip Hop heads, capitalists, Marxists, communists, feminists, Africanists, traditionalists, etc. That’s because they’re followers of Beyonce, Jay Z, Steve Biko, Julius Malema, Warren Buffet or some other luminary. That’s why they behave like them and not the Lord Jesus Christ.
To become a Follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, you must forsake every other teacher with their philosophy and example. You must follow His Teaching. You must practice His Philosophy. He must become your Example. This is what it means to become a Disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.
PRAYER
Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, help me to drop every worldly philosophy and teaching. Help me to become a Follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. May I follow His Teaching, His Philosophy and His Example. Amen.
