HUSBANDS, DON’T BE BITTER

FAMILY FRIDAY

Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them – Colossians 3:19

Inasmuch as God expects men and women not to walk in bitterness, He however singles out husbands and commands them, not their wives, not to be bitter against their spouse. Why? That’s because women are not men and men are not women.

Women are the weaker vessel according to 1 Peter 3:7, as a result, they have weaknesses that require patience from their husbands. If a husband doesn’t understand this about his wife, he’ll be embittered against her since he’ll expect her to be strong in areas where she can’t be.

This is important. Husbands must dwell with their wives according to knowledge. When you understand this about your wife, you’ll be very patient with her and walk in forgiveness towards her. This will lead to a peaceful marriage characterized by mutual love and respect. Glory to God!

PRAYER

Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray for husbands all over the world to dwell with their wives according to knowledge. May they love them and not be bitter against them. Amen.
