By FAITH Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, OBEYED; and he went out, not knowing wither he went – Hebrews 11:8

Ask most Christians today what faith is all about and they’ll tell you it’s about believing God’s word and confessing it to get what you want. But that’s not what the bible teaches. Obedience is the mark of true faith. You can believe and confess and still be sold out to sin.

When Abraham heard God’s word, he didn’t just confess it, he obeyed it. Don’t get me wrong, I believe in confession, and there’s definitely room for it. However, Christianity is not the great confession as many claim but rather, the great obedience. You’re not a Christian until you obey the Lord Jesus Christ.

The faith of Abraham obeys. Abraham is called the father of faith and as his seed we should emulate his faith. How did Abraham live out his faith? He obeyed. As disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ we’re called to obey everything whatsoever the Lord Jesus Christ commanded. Obedience is the ultimate expression of faith, not confession.

PRAYER

Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that the church will get a true revelation of faith. May the church wake up to discipleship and obey whatsoever the Lord Jesus Christ commanded. Amen.
