DROUGHT AND LOCUST SWARMS NEXT

Glory to God! I trust you’re well and denying yourself, taking up your Cross daily and following the Example of the Lord Jesus Christ so you can rule and reign with Him in this world and the World to Come.

On 16 November 2022, I saw the following:

BEGINNING

While in Prayer, I saw something very disturbing. At first I saw one locust. It looked to be devouring something. The Vision then repeated a few minutes later. I saw the same locust, or it could have been a different one.

The later still, I saw swarms and swarms of locusts flying in the sky. The swarms were so large they blackened the sky.

I then saw a scene of extreme drought. It was as if I was in someone’s farm. I saw dry land. It looked like it hadn’t rained for some time. I saw a few dry maize stalks still in the ground. It looked crop failure. I also saw hungry, emaciated and thin livestock. It wasn’t a lot of animals but just a few. It was clear that those were the survivors, the rest were probably wiped out by drought.

South Africa is not the only maize-producing nation in the world. The US, China, Argentina and Brazil make up more than two thirds of global maize production.

I say this because the Lord didn’t show me which nation I was seeing. As a result, I believe the Lord was showing me that extreme drought is coming to many parts of the globe.

The Lord has already told us about coming food shortages. He spoke about extreme hunger. Hunger can be caused by drought or famine. Drought is a weather condition whereas famine is an economic condition.

Drought is caused by extreme heat and poor rainfall which then leads to crop failure.

Famine is caused by poor economic condition due to events such as war, sanctions, poor farming techniques, etc.

In the Scriptures, however, famine covers drought as well.

Famine is a Curse and one of God’s Four Sore Judgments on nations that disobey Him.

Ezekiel 14:21 says, ‘For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send MY FOUR SORE JUDGMENTS upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the FAMINE, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?’

Famine comes upon a nation as a result of God’s Judgment. The other three are the Sword or War, Pestilence or Plagues, and Wild Beasts or Natural Disasters. We’re seeing all four a play right now. However, the Lord is currently singling our Famine.

Ezekiel 14:12 says, ‘The word of the Lord came to me: 13 “Son of man, IF A COUNTRY SINS AGAINST ME BY BEING UNFAITHFUL AND I STRETCH OUT MY HAND AGAINST IT TO CUT OFF ITS FOOD SUPPLY AND SEND FAMINE UPON IT AND KILL ITS PEOPLE upon it AND KILL ITS ANIMALS, 14 even if these three men—Noah, Daniel[a] and Job—were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign Lord.’

God sends Famine to a nation to judge it by cutting off its food supply so that its people and animals may die.

That’s why Famine is mentioned is part of the Curse.

Deuteronomy 28:22-24 says, ‘The LORD will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, WITH SCORCHING HEAT AND DROUGHT, with blight and mildew, which will plague you until you perish. The sky over your head will be bronze, the ground beneath you iron. The Lord will turn the rain of your country into dust and powder; it will come down from the skies until you are destroyed.’

Extreme heat and poor or no rainfall are God’s Judgment of Famine upon a rebellious nation. He puts a Curse on them.

Not only does God use extreme heat and poor rainfall to destroy such nations, but He also sends swarms of locusts to destroy their crops.

Deuteronomy 28:38,42 says, ‘You will sow much seed in the field but you will harvest little, BECAUSE LOCUSTS WILL DEVOUR IT…SWARMS OF LOCUSTS WILL TAKE OVER ALL YOUR TREES AND THE CROPS OF YOUR LAND.’

What’s happening and about to happen is not as a result of climate change but man’s sin. It’s not Mother Nature, whoever that is, but rather it’s our Father God meting out His Wrath upon disobedient humanity.

2 Chronicles 7:13-14 says, ‘WHEN I SHUT UP THE HEAVENS SO THAT THERE IS NO RAIN, OR COMMAND THE LOCUSTS TO DEVOUR THE LAND or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’

The only thing that will stop the Wrath of God is Repentance. If these nations will repent, then God will relent and bless them instead.

Jeremiah 18:7-10 says, ‘If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, 8 and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned. And if at another time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be built up and planted, and if it does evil in my sight and does not obey me, then I will reconsider the good I had intended to do for it.’

That’s God’s Punishment for the nations that disobey Him. For His People, however, God will provide.

Psalm 37:18-19 says, ‘The LORD knows the days of the blameless, and their inheritance will last forever. In the time of evil they will not be ashamed, and in the days of famine they will be satisfied.’

In the days of Famine, the Blameless or the Righteous will be satisfied. Glory to God!

Psalm 33:19 says, ‘Surely the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His loving devotion to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.’

The Lord will provide for us during Famine. That’s the Covenant.
