COMMANDMENTS OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
As His Disciples, we must keep His Commandments.
If ye love me, keep my commandments – John 14:15
Just as God gave Moses Commandments for Israel to keep, the Father sent the Lord Jesus Christ with Commandments for His Followers to keep. The Commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ are what form the basis of the Doctrine of Christ.
They transform us into Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. Instructions such as turning the other cheek, loving our enemies or taking up our cross are not useful hints and tips, they’re actual authoritative Commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ that He expects all His Followers to keep.
When He instructed the Apostles to make Disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey everything He commanded, He was referring to His Commandments. As His Disciples, we must keep His Commandments. That’s how we show that we love our glorious Lord Jesus Christ because He first loved us.
PRAYER
My Lord Jesus Christ, I thank You for making me Your Disciple. I thank You for giving me Your Commandments for me to keep. Your Commandments are not burdensome because Your Yoke is easy and your burden is light. Thank You Lord.
