Glory to God! I trust you’re well and denying yourself, taking up your cross and following the Lord Jesus Christ.

On 13 June 2020, I heard the following:

BEGINNING

I am uniting French-speaking Canada and English-speaking Canada. They’ve been apart long enough. They’ve been apart for too long. I’m healing the divisions of the past between the two sides. I’ll heal their differences and give them on language to speak. They will speak as one.

END

Present-day Canada is a divided country. It has two proud nations in one, the British and the French. in the 1800s, after Canada’s defeat in the Seven Years’ War, France ceded all its Canadian colonial territory to Britain.

That effectively meant that the British colonised the French in Canada. After World War 2, the British aimed to recognise the French as equals. However, with the proviso that French Canadians would maintain their culture, and in particular their French language.

Since French Canadians are in the minority and have been colonised by English Canadians, they’ve always felt marginalised. As a result, English Canadians have had to make certain concessions over the decades to accommodate French Canadians, such as to learn French even though they feel they don’t need it.

In an attempt to preserve their culture and language, French Canada has a language police to ensure English doesn’t dominate national affairs. This has not helped since English is a much bigger and more useful language than French globally. This has led to even deeper tensions.

Quebec, the French-speaking province of Canada vied for independence in 1995. The movement is still alive and well to this day since they see themselves as essentially a country within a country.

But God is uniting the two sides. He says He’ll give them one language to speak, and they’ll speak as one. Glory to God!
