CALLED TO OBEDIENCE

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ – 2 Thessalonians 1:8

The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is the Gospel that was preached by the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s the Doctrine of Christ, and its focus is obedience. Those who disobey the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ will be destroyed in the Lake of Fire.

But that’s not what we’re preaching today. Which is amazing when you consider that the sole reason the Lord Jesus came is because of Adam’s disobedience. Now that He has come, the Church says obedience is unnecessary because it is works or being under the law, all we have to do is just believe.

That’s absurd. The Lord Jesus Christ forgave us our disobedience through His Cross and through His Resurrection we’re born again and given the Spirit so that we may obey Him. The Lord Jesus Christ came to call us to a life of obedience. Those who don’t heed this Call will face His Wrath on the Day of Judgment.

PRAYER

Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I thank You that I’m washed in the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You that I’m born again and filled with Your Spirit. Help me to live the rest of my days in obedience to You. Amen.
