BETTER AND LASTING POSSESSIONS
Are the possessions of this world worth more to you than eternal life?
MONEY MONDAY
You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions – Hebrews 10:34
The prosperity message has done a lot of damage to the church. It’s made the church covetous and obsessed with worldly possessions. But that message is about to die a horrible death because intense persecution is coming to the church.
When the early church was persecuted, they were beaten, imprisoned and killed, and their property was confiscated. That’s coming to our generation soon. But because the early church knew they had better and lasting possessions in Christ, they gladly and joyfully let go of their natural possessions.
Will you renounce Christ because of a mere house or car? Are the possessions of this world worth more to you than eternal life? Or do you believe you have true riches in Christ where thieves cannot break in and steal or where rust and moth cannot destroy? Do you believe you have better and lasting possessions in Christ compared to the wealth of this world which is uncertain and temporary?
PRAYER
Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I thank you for the true riches and lasting possessions I have in Christ. I also thank you for the natural things you’ve blessed me with, however, help me not to be attached to them. Amen.
