WORLD HEALTH SYSTEM OVERWHELMED

Glory to God! I trust you’re well and denying yourself, taking up your cross and following the Lord Jesus Christ.

This morning, 25 July 2020, while in prayer, I had a vision:

BEGINNING

I saw what looked like a drawing or painting of a snake entwined around an upright rod. Suddenly, the drawing or painting came alive. It became a real snake entwined around a real upright rod.

The snake started to move around the rod but the focus of the vision was mainly its head. It looked tired and deflated. When it opened its mouth, it was toothless.

Then I suddenly realised that the snake entwined around a rod is an international symbol associated with healing and medicine.

According to ancient Greek mythology, the snake entwined around a rod is the Rod of Asclepius, son of Apollo. He’s the Greek god of healing and medicine.

Christians often see this symbol and erroneously associate it with the snake Moses was commanded by God to make out of bronze and lift up on a pole, and whoever looked at it would be healed.

It’s not so at all, it’s the Rod of Asclepius and it’s a pagan symbol of medicine and healing that has nothing to do with God.

Be that as it may, the snake on the rod looked tired and defeated, when it opened its mouth, it looked toothless.

INTERPRETATION

The Rod of Asclepius is the international symbol of medicine and healing. It’s on the World Health Organisation logo and many other logos of different medical fraternities around the world such as hospitals, clinics, ambulances, medical aid organisation, and the like.

This symbol in the vision therefore symbolises the global medical fraternity as a whole.

Seeing the snake tired and defeated means that the world health system doesn’t know what do to with the coronavirus problem. They’ve been dealing with it for about 5 months now and it is wearing them out. They’re tired and defeated.

We’ve seen and heard reports of the system being overwhelmed, but since God is now showing it at this time, it means it’s about to get worse.

The toothless snake means that they’re defenceless against the virus and they also pose no threat to it, since fangs on a snake are for both offensive and defensive purposes.

The world health system is overwhelmed. Doctors and nurses are getting infected routinely, and many are dying. There aren’t testing kits around the world to discover new cases so they can be contained.

There aren’t enough hospitals to handle the sheer rising number of patients. There aren’t enough hospital beds to deal with COVID-19 patients specifically. There aren’t enough ventilators to keep wards safe. There aren’t enough ICU facilities to cope with critical patients.

Things are about to get completely out of hand. We’re about to see the global health system completely overwhelmed by this problem.

God is shaking everything that can be shaken. We’ve been warned that there’s a storm coming.

Our role as the Church is to pray and intercede for doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals to be able to cope under the immense pressure that’s about to befall them.

We need to pray for God to give them wisdom and endurance. We need to pray that the solution may come speedily so that lives may be spared.
